Good question James....

We're a country of traders, so we need to speak our languages. Actually, I communicate in English and German so often that I have started making mistakes in my written Dutch....

I absolutely hate people who don't know how to leave a Censored voicemail.  You do not need to leave your life's story on the god Censored  Censored answering machine.  Nor do you need to tell your life's story in slow motion, then at the end of your very, very long message, say your phone number faster than the Censoreding speed of sound, so that I have to listen to your Censored message 6 Censored times to get your Censored phone number, you CensoredCensoredCensoredCensoredCensoredCensoredCensored.  I don't want to listen to your pathetic bull Censored once much less six Censored times loser.  If you can't leave a normal Censored voicemail, your phone privileges should be Censored revoked.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

I have the same problem... I always seem to leave a message before the real beep... then I make a mistake when I'm saying my message and the whole thing just goes tits up, basically.

I don't ever listen my voice mails either, because I get charged for them.

I cant stand leaving voicemail either. But I think it's mainly due to just being impatient, and not wanting to wait for a reply.

I'm a telephonophobe, I hate telephones and hence detest voice-mail as natural consequence. But even if I weren't, I'd dislike the concept of voice-mail ...  oh, I'm too busy having fun to answer your call, please leave some garbled stammering after the bleep...
What?

You'll probably hate me too, as I cannot speak to a machine; as with Fanny, I turn into Mr Inarticulate...

...mind you, you'd hate my friend Mike even more - he once left a rambling message on our friends' answer machine which went on for a staggering 28 minutes (I believe they actually kept the tape, it was such a classic)

Jim supplies the Hammond soundtrack to it as well, I gather.  The cover though is a gaudy tie-died t-shirt looking splodge of mad incomprehension.  Wink

Reminds me of when Noddy Holder was asked if he'd like a kipper tie - he replied "yes please, two sugars"*

*note - this only makes sense if read in a broad Wolverhampton accent...
