Dude, Max has piles of artists to consider for the archives.  Have patience and I'm sure Beefheart will (deservingly) get in.

Reviving this.  I'd say Max has had more than enough time to get around to adding the Captain.

The Captain should be here. He is unique. I remember hearing 'Trout Mask Replica' for the first time and I was stunned!

Howlin' Wolf is at the head of the list of those bluesmen and deserves mention surely? ( Again) a record not mentioned  - the title track of Icecream For Crow, is worth the price of the CD alone - Gary Lucas's first recording and boy the guy has ready established his unique style. A couple of magnificent live recordings of Lucas in the Magic Band, on Lucas's retrospective Improve The Shining Hour, Her Eyes Are A Million Miles finds Van Vliet singing a love song with passion and sublety (check out the acknowledgments on that album). Of course Lucas (with Van Vliet's approval)  has taken the Magic Band back on the road in Europe this summer -I'm much annoyed I missed them but told they were magnificient in Nottingham
