Yesterday was a great Rush gig in Ahoy Rotterdam - and hopefully you will all be able to enjoy it later on, since the band made audio and video recordings of the concert. This could be my chance to appear on a Rush DVD, in the audience on approximately row 10.

What we got was a fantastic concert, even the sound was good (which is not always the case in Ahoy). The set list appeared similar to the one published here for Manchester and Wembley, with some surprising tracks like Between the Wheels, Entre Nous and Analog Kid (or was it Digital Man - we couldn't make up our mind). More details to come later, but here's some pictures to start with....

Brought to you by the letter 'A'....

Far Cry....

Working Them Angels (a.k.a. working them toms....)

The Henhouse

I need 4 hands....

All together now, 1, 2, 3....

Got a light?

Now when will that second pair of hands arrive?

The Professor was in good shape

As was Geddy, the company clown

EXCELLENT PICTURES, FELLOW DUTCHMAN, WELL DONE
AND WHAT A GREAT VISUALS, AS USUAL  ClapClap

I have just decided not to go to the Rush concert in Ahoy because I have seen the band so many times since 1979 and for me the R30 tour was a good final gig because of playing 2112 on stage, one of my Rush dreams Thumbs%20Up

But I am sure all PA members who have attended or will attend the recent tour will be blown away, I am looking forward to the forthcoming live DVD, recorded in ... Holland, I am very proud on that Approve and I hope to see some familiar faces on the front row, I know female Rush diehards who love the camera eye Wink !

I just received the newsletter from RUSH.COM, which contained a contest for free tickets (check the site!) to one of the following European concerts. I might get lucky and go to Oberhausen for an additional concert on Friday...

Furthermore, that newsletter confirmed the recordings of DVD material in Rotterdam. The band were really pushing just a little bit harder (or so it seemed) with the camera's around. After the deception of the bad sound quality during the R30 concert in Rotterdam this really felt like they were making it up with us.
LIVE DVD FILMING

Finally, RUSH will be filming a LIVE concert DVD in Rotterdam October 16th and 17th. For more information on this project, stay tuned to the Rush.com email blasts and the website.
And on top of that, on http://www.rush.com/fanquestions you can now enter questions to the band.

QUESTIONS FOR THE BAND

Is there something that you have always wanted to ask RUSH? Well, here is your opportunity! Fans may now submit questions that they would like the band to answer from Monday, October 15th through Thursday October 18th. Please be creative, because the band will only be choosing the BEST questions to answer. Visit http://www.rush.com/fanquestions to submit your question.
@Tony: It was Digital Man indeed. We found out by the end of the track, but given that out of the eigth in our group only one really likes Signals, we had some interesting debates during the song.

@Erik: I saw your PM. Guess you won't be in the DVD then Wink. As for the pictures: the light set up for this tour is excellent for taking picture from the arena. The diffference in light with Symforce last month was huge, and my camera responded gracefully to that. Out of 52 pictures, only about 8 are of low quality, while at Symforce only around 15 out of 64 were usable.

Finally, I found a few set lists on the web which match my recollection of songs we heard last night (I'm terrible at remembering set lists during concerts), but I won't publish it here, in order not to spoil Rafaella's night out next week Wink

Well Angelo, yesterday I also received that Fanquestions e-mail, I have asked or Rush will repeat their magical moment when Alex and Geddy are playing on their Gibson and Rickenbacker double-neck guitars during Xanadu, the last time (R30 tour) only Alex played oh his Gibson double-neck during Xanadu Unhappy Perhaps the phone will ring soon and I will be invited for a free concert visit and a Meet & Greet with the band ... Unhappy It's now 0210 PM so they have to hurry with their phone call to me ....!

Fingers crossed - but there's some fine print in the contest: you either get a free ticket because you had none, or you get a meet 'n greet with the ticket you already bought. Wink

EDIT: in case someone's interested in equipment, I'll follow Tony's example from the Rush Manchester thread. Here's the camera I used during the concert - an 'oldie', but a goldie...
