Topic: Joren, what’s happening? Posted: September 04 2004 at 17:01 |
I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but I haven't visited the forums too often for the past few weeks (although it feels like a lifetime). I haven't even read your posts and I have a lot of catching up to do. The problem is: I moved to a city where I'm going to study MUSICOLOGY (first lecture: next monday!) I don't have an Internet connection there yet. At the times I was back at my parents' house, I had other stuff on my mind. I worked a lot and I got my driving license (whoopee). Now the holiday is over and I'm ready to study! (and drink large amounts of delicious beer) JrKASperov and I live in the same building and were having fun. I don't like it that I have been away for such a long time, but maybe I won't have time to visit again for another week or so. I feel ashamed that I didn't submit a review for a long time. I am not worthy! When I have an Internet connection, I won't have my parents bothering me, and I hope there's time left to write some reviews, after I read about Western music from Antiquity til now and drank beer with my friends (very important). I will also install MSN!!!
I miss you!
Keep progressing, I AM!
P.S. My latest purchases: Zappa - Zappa In New York Zappa/Mothers - Freak Out! (my dad downloaded it once, now I wanted to buy the orignal) Caravan - In The Land Of Grey And Pink (Remastered) (I'm a little disappointed, to be honest. It's good, but I don't think it's the masterpiece everybody says it is) Yes - Fragile (Remastered)

Dude, I haven't been around much either but it's nice to know you
haven't just picked up and left. I bought Captain Beefhearts -
Trout Maks Replica like you suggested too. I really don't know
what to think yet though, I'm kind of freaked out by it's weirdness but
at the same time I'm blown away by it.

Welcome back! The 'net is a lot like growing up near a military base, you get too used to people coming and going unexpectedly.
Musicology! Sweet! Many happy memories of my music history courses...I still have one of my 15 year old required listening lists (MU262- "American Music"; we studied everything from Charles Ives to Steve Reich).

I was actually just thinking "where did Joren go?" the other day. Any idea when you might be getting an internet connection? And don't worry about the lack of reviews submitted, you've got more important things going on in your life.
And I agree about Caravan.

Joren, ik vroeg me af, waar blijft die jongen nou? Hang in there with your studies mate. We'll hear from you when you've got time, I'm sure.

Joren,
Good to hear from you, we'll keep things going when you're not around!
You'll grow to love the Caravan album, they just take a little time. Play it when you need to relax a little!

I agree: Caravan was one of the bands that took more time for me to appreciate. Anyway, 'In the land...' is not one of my favourite Caravan albums. I appreciate a lot more 'For Girls who...'
