Hmm...
Not a major rant really, but I had to 'phone up to receive a parcel the other day, because I wasn't in when they tried to deliver it. I 'phoned them up and all I got was a silly automated response... press button 1 for this, press button 2 for this... so I do that. Then I have to say my parcel number into the 'phone... which I wasn't ready for, so it tried to put me through to a real human. I waited a short while, got fed up and so I tried again... this time the number I said was recognised and the quickest they could deliver it was on the Friday, but between 9 and 5... well I stay at my girlfriend's house on Thursday evenings and don't get back 'til after 9... (I could have left earlier, or not gone to see her, but no, I wasn't doing that!). When I got home about 9:40 on the Friday, my tickets (that was what the parcel was), was on the kitchen worktop. Luckily, my mother just caught them delivering it at dead-on 9! She came back to get something, so I was lucky! Why can't they just employ humans who I can arrange a specific time for delivery with? Any time in the afternoon would have been fine too. Oh well, at least I got them fine. I just hate automated 'phones! |

They are the bane of my existence as well. I had to go through one of those long automated menus recently just to make a friggin' doctor's appointment! |

Went to the supermarket this morning. When I got back to the car I discovered some fckwit had dented the door very badly and driven off . I've only had the car six months and this is the second time it's happened, so needless to say I was a little upset. Ranting abuse in the carpark at anyone in shouting distance did little to alleviate my anger, neither did leaving a trail of smoldering rubber behind me as I left, nor did ripping down the bypass at 110mph. Listening to some nice cool relaxing Israeli prog has calmed me conciderably, but I know the red mist will descend again when I go out to my car to re-assess the damage.
What psses me off is the inherrant dishonesty in the British public, I have no doubts that this was a simple accident, probably done by the passenger of the car next to me, but they drove away knowing they had done it (the dent is deep and the paint-work chipped down to bare metal). Is their no-claims bonus that important to them that they cannot do the decent thing and own-up? Are they that selfish that they can cause damage without any guilt? Would they just shrug and go C'est la Vie if it happened to them? No - they left with a clear conscience because they knew they would fing get away with it...
The Fing Bst*rds!!!!
I hope that all the ill-will in the world descends upon their miserable existence, I bid them nothing but misfortune for the rest of their natural lives and a pox on them and their offspring for all eternity - the Karma Police are watching...
Accidents happen - I know this, I'm a grown-up, I once reversed into a parked car and smashed their rear-light glass - I left a note and paid for the repair. It's not a question of decency or a guilty conscience - it was just the right thing to do. I don't rate myself as being a highly moral or honest person but it appears that by modern standards I am.

Sorry to hear that Dean. It's happened to my latest car twice and I've only had it since January. It is really annoying.

I went to a local record shop (bought Opeth's Mornigrise ) and contemplated buying Nightwish's new album, but thought it would be cheaper at Best Buy a few minutes away. Got to Best Buy, and it was $10 more ($25!!!!) It's not even a double CD!!! Feck it all!! On the plus side, I found Sleepytime Gorilla Museum's new album at Best Buy (how it got there, I have no idea), so I snatched it up right away.

When you've already got friends the concept does appear to be a little redundant.

Dean, I hit your car, sorry... I should have said. One mustn't joke though, these things happen all the time. The one that annoys me the most is when thugs decide to key your car for no reason whatsoever. Luckily it's never happened to me, but people have jumped on my car roof and dented it. I don't know why they choose my car either... oh well. |

'sokay dude, don't fret about it these things happen. chill.
there is always that nagging thought that it might have been someone who knows you and still bears a grudge from years ago when you beat him at conkers or something equally trivial.

Hmm...
I MAY (I am pretty sure I am), very distantly related to annoying socialite and dappy-brained (maybe) millionaire, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson... I do not like this fact! I'm also likely to be related to Nicholas Soames... yes, him... help me! I am talking very distant though, when I find the link, which I am pretty sure exists. These individuals are in my family tree by right, due to the fact my family married into another branch of my family (well, that seems to be case, even though I cannot find it yet), so are also likely to be blood relatives too. A further back branch of this branch, had a descendant who married into a Bankers family, who of course, had reasonably high status, so married highly too. I don't think I like the prospect of being related in any way to Tara Plonker-Plonkerson... how ever distant it is. Why me?! Help! |

okay, I'll bite - how?
ps: Tara's dad, Chas Palmer-Tomkinson, is a jolly decent chap act'lly who allows a drummer friend of mine to use one of his old cow-sheds as a rehearsal studio for free. We even creditted him on the album we recorded there.

I wasn't complaining about him, it's his annoying daughter! I know what he looks like, 'cause he was supporting her on that singing thing she did. Bless him and his wife though, they do seem pleasant enough. Tara seems a nice lass, but well... she's not really my type of woman at all, I'm afraid.
How? I don't know who she is... is she worse then? Edited by Geck0 - October 13 2007 at 22:08 |
