Sorry, I meant 13 times.

Oh, and Logan thanks for the recommendation, I have actually already added that to my list (right after Magma, Can, Happy Family, and a few others)

I'm not a huge fan of Happy Family.  I'd recommend Eskaton over them by a lot.

I must admit I am a step below a n00b when it comes to Zeuhl.  I was looking at the genre on PA to get a feel for what this was and quite frankly I have never heard of any of these bands except for Magma.  I am currently listening to the streaming samples to get a feel for the sound.  That second song listed Arrakis from Dos was a very good instrumental.  I think where I will get lost in this section however is the whole Magma thing with the made-up language.  That doesn't really have much appeal to me but I will give the samples a try.

The Kobaian language is only used by Magma, so if that really turns you off (it probably won't if you actually give the music a shot), you could try Eskaton and Dun to test the music before you dive into Magma.  I'd really recommend you start with Magma, though, as they were both the first and the greatest Zeuhl band.

Rushfan, I thought I'd never be able to get into Magma because they were just too bizzare, now I absolutely love them!

Saw Magma live last night and it was one of the most unique, thrilling and bombastic live experiences I've ever had!

It was one of those concerts you wish never took an end. Vander did a mind-boggling performance as well!

I actually know flip all about Zeuhl, what would people recommend to a Camel/Pink Floyd/Caravan fan in the way of Zeuhl?
Would you like to watch TV, or get between the sheets, or contemplate the silent freeway, would you like something to eat?

Start with Magma.  MDK or Hhai! would probably be your best bets, and I think Hhai! is about as cheap as Magma albums get.

What?!? Hhai is real expensive, r-dog! MDK is excellent zeuhl but it's probably a crappy starting point - unless you can take the heat, that is.

Dun and Magma's debut are good starting places. After that get MDK (the classic zeuhl album) and Koenjihyakkei is excellent, too.

Thanks man.

Yeah I just noticed that before you posted.

But Udu Wudu and Attakh are still a good 7 or 8 dollars cheaper on amazon than wayside.

Thank you very much!
