When I buy a new album, I'll read every single word in the damned thing.

Every damned word - I want to know the lyrics, who produced, who the additional musicians were, who cleaned the khazi in the studio; when you get an album, and you know by the weight, there's a thick booklet inside, you know the band love you very much...
...what I don't like is when the booklet folds out into a single sheet of paper about the size of your average Ordinance Survey map, and still doesn't contain any information, just an abstract piece of 'art' (or in Steve Vai's case, another picture of him with his cheeks sucked in trying - in vain - to look pretty)

All of it short of those long and drawn out paragraphs of names of family members and record executives. Stupid thank-you pages.

I think I'll go with "I just quickly glance over it, reading bits here and there" in the same day I buy the album.

This is pretty much how it goes for me as well. |
Yep, though I also read the whole thing first day sometimes too. It really depends on the booklet though, if it has many pages or fewer pages.

You do realize that Illumanati scientists have created a chemical that causes an endorphine release that makes the brain crave more cd's that they have lined the inside of cd booklets with, don't you?

I read every word. One of the most disappointing things in life is
openning to booklet to see nothing but the track titles and times. It
makes me weep.

i read every word, but i wait until after i listen to the album. when i listen to it i just like to focus on the music and nothing else, but afterwards i'm interested to read everything, especially if there are amusing stories and i also like to look at the engineering and production credits. as an audio student, i like to know these things and know who's worked on what and look at similarities between that album and other work they've done.
