Genesis - Arena sounds interesting. Is it that band where Arena members are inserted into Genesis members? |
I don't think its our business where Arena inserts their members.

Ok then. Anyway, Arena sort of admire Genesis, so I guess it's ok. As long as it is an act of love.

No. You guys are reading it wrong. It's Genesis minus Arena, which gives us Journey, I think.

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Thank you very much. Yea SOAD is pretty personal, because I grew up listening to them, they were the first ones to show me that music can be anti- something. I was obsessed with them for about 5 or 6 years before and during high school. I really can't listen to the with the same ears, since I've discovered so much since then. Prog has spoiled me. And Rammstein........ is just Rammstein. Completely blew me away as a teen. Everything is just so powerful, theatrical, dramatic with them. And the German was never really an issue with me.

Ah, I see. I don't hate America, but I love that song. I forgot to mention this, kinda ironic/funny: When the White Stripes released "Stand Behind Me Satan", I had never really explored progressive music... I HATED it. It was too "prog" for me! As a fan, I just wanted to hear some bad a$$ guitar riffs from Jack White, I didn't have time for xylophones and other crap! I sold it back the next day. That was the summer a couple of years ago, and now, with my new "prog" ears, I can honestly appreciate it. (I bought a copy.... again).

Is there any other lineup? Uh, metaphysically of course. I mean, there's like 80 other lineups. And don't even get me started on Deep Purple...

Prog:
Ayreon Death Marillion
Non-prog:
Acid Bath Avantasia Strapping Young Lad
note that a lot of people consider SYL and Avantasia to be prog-metal (though fascinatingly enough they were rejected by progarchives =[ )

Well that's fine, I certainly don't expect everyone to enjoy a death metal band, a nerdy-as-hell rock-opera project, or faerie music ;p
edit: strange how a genesis fan wouldn't be able to stand marillion though, in their good days (first three albums) they were practically a clone of them
