I see some nice systems in here....and... ahem...some others.
But hey, whatever gets the music to your ears.
We have 2 theater rooms that have generic Fisher/Onkyo home thetater in-a-box systems. Usually do not listen to music in those rooms, except concert DVD's.
My main listening is on....
Rotel RC-9708x pre-amp (top unit only)
Onkyo Integra EQ-35
And a 1992 Carver TFM-15CB, its one of the last hand built Carvers.
Powering a set of Definitive Technologies bp6's
My source is usually MP3's straight from the computer using a Sounblaster Audigy 2zs. When I buy a CD, it gets ripped, burned (if I want a copy for the car) and then put in a storage box under the bed so as to not get damaged.

Amp -1984 Mission Cyrus2 - bit long in the tooth now but works ok.
Speakers - Mission 770 Freedom same vintage and still sound great.
Turntable -Rega Planar 2 rarely gets used but love it still.
CD - Yamaha.
For the Home Theatre - Pioneer 7.1 with Gale Speakers and Panasonic 42" Plasma.
All components fit my budget and get hammered hard.

Afraid not, they didn't make 78's after the late 50's. I'm not sure what the maximum length track you can fit on a 78 but it can't be much more than 5 minutes so we'd be knackered with Prog Epics!

Oh yeah! What about Yes and four sides of Vinyl? Anyway the Theremin was invented in the 1920s (or thereabouts) so synths could have been used on epics with, say, 16 sides for 80 minutes...  Getting back on topic... I have a Luxman AMP and Translinear speakers (old but sound great).

Nothing wrong with old, it the quality that counts. I have a 17 years old Audiolab 8000A Amp, Systemdek II turntable, Tannoy DC2000 Speakers and a relatively new Arcam cd92 cd player.

Wow people have some nice stuff. I just have a NAD C320 BEE amp, a NAD C521 BEE CD player and a pair of Celestion Speakers. I want to change the speakers soon but need money. Its a fairly cheap system but sounds good.
