Perhaps this is a bit obssesive, but I do think Crostinis are just the cutest, most delicious meal ever. As for the one above: Paint some baguette oblique slices with olive oil and place them in the oven for about 15 minutes or until they look a bit yellow. Meanwhile, fry some bacon, get goat cheese and lemon skin plus herbs of choice (I strongly recommend basil and mint) and some red pepper (sweet, not spicy). Remove bread slices from oven and try to put the elements in the same order that can be seen on the picture. Lovely. I've heard that iltalian restaurants are proud to offer a vast variety of crostinis, and I do belive that their most famous one, Crostini neri is just the proggiest meal around. Simply beautiful.
