Hi PA Band Submissions!

Some Aussie bands for consideration for inclusion on PA...

Spectrum (Crossover) *
The Master's Apprentices (Heavy Prog / Crossover) *
Tamam Shud (Crossover)
Kahvas Jute (Heavy Prog / Crossover) *
Ariel (Crossover)
Coloured Balls (Heavy Prog / Crossover)
Tully (??? ... described as "hypnotic rock" in the "Essential Mini-Guide") *
Lobby Loyde (Heavy Prog / Crossover)
Zoot (Crossover) *
Cybotron (Prog Electronic)

* = a mention in the band listings of Ronald Couture's "Essential Mini-Guide to Progressive Rock".

...and I do not profess to be an expert on these bands in any way, shape or form ... I do my best to source this 60's & 70's music and try to take it in. I will make an effort to pass on some tracks from each of these bands.

There is info around on each of these bands. www.milesago.com is one place to look; the Aztec Music site www.aztecmusic.net is another. There are other sites, too.

I will try to put a bit of a mp3 package together over the next few days and ping it to the band submissions e-mail address.

Cheers,

T.Rox Thumbs%20Up

It certainly seems that Dragon recorded two progressive albums first up. I haven't been able to get hold of copies of these. I only know their poppy stuff like "April Sun In Cuba" & "Are You Old Enough" ... songs that I have never really liked.

I suppose Blackfeather is another band to throw into the mix. These guys are another group to get a mention in The Mini-Guide!

Cheers, Micky

Another Aussie band - probably crossover and also in the Mini-Guide - is Bakery. I have bought Bakery's Momento CD on eBay but have not received it as yet, and there seems to be a problem with the seller apparently not having a copy to send to me!

I'm gonna submit my band for addition soon once we get some releases out, I'd say we'd be prog folk or crossover.

No problems, Micky. Let me know as any (if any) of the bands are successful and I will begin doing bios and discographies as required.

I have a vinyl copy of Dragon's "Scented Garden's for the Blind" which as I recall definitely proggy (nothing like their pop albums). I will have to listen to it again...

Songs
Side 1:
Vermillion Cellars 4:58
La Gash Lagoon 4:43
Sunburst 7:31

Side 2:
Greylynn Candy 3:23
Darkness 8:20
Scented Gardens for the Blind 8:35
