Hi guys, sorry Iv not had any input for alittle while had tons of other stuff to do. Just got back from playing another awsome gig with my prog ban Equinox and it got me wondering: What would other people class us as because we woul say we are a heavy prog-rock group but Id love to find out what some of the prog community think.

Our myspace is www.myspace.com/equinox17, click on it, take a listen and let me no on this thread a) what you think of our stuff and b) what sub-gnre of prog you would class us as.

Wozza

p.s we put on a kick ass live show!

Let Tony deal with the tasteless comment - and don't let that comment discourage us in a fruitful conversation, which SD's thread opened in a good intention, but on a wrong place, certainly deserves.

SD: I like your music! It's kinda difficult to pin it down but IMHO the Prog-Metal elements prevail, hence prog-metal. I'm not very big fan of the genre, but I like Equinox, so take it as a compliment!

If you want more detailed tagging than a rudimentary "PA subgenre", you have to ask our expertsSmile

Edit: I've sent you a MySpace Friend Invitation from my prog-folk band.Wink

Just listened to all songs, it's pretty clearly prog metal, and excellent at that! reminded me of Anathema a little but with a harder edge, especially the first song... some more keyboards could help though.

You'll be in the archives surely once you get signed...

Thanks guys, keep them coming. I think this is a perfectly good topic for the forum because its about a new band that is writing prog-rock, so thus it makes sense for me to ask the prog community as they would be the one's buying the records if we got signed. Plus im just interested what the normal prog fan thinks and how they would class us thats all.

But yeah keep them coming, and if you can get down to Bexleyheath in Kent we are playing the Rat and Parrott pub this Wes (the 12th Sept). We'd love the support, so come support a new English Prog band Smile

I don't know which subgenre to place it in, since I've given up on genres. But I know that it's pretty good, and with a wee bit more tinkering and some improvements here and there, your songs will be friggin' great.

I like the blue-notey kind of way the vocals are performed. It adds an interesting sense of melancholy.
