I am told that I snore... When I say "told" I mean that every now and again (especially if we've been to the pub where I may have drunk/smoked more than usual), I will be woken up by a very sharp elbow in the ribs...

... when this happens, do I hear snoring?

No.

Ergo, I am being lied to

Not only do I snore, but apparently I grind my teeth more than I snore.

At times -- when very inebriated, and sleeping on my back (I'm usually on my side).

I think many people snore, and just don't know it yet  -- especially you single guys! Wink

O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'

If a man snores in a forest and there isn't a woman there to hear him...

Sleeping flat on your back may increase possibility of snoring. Gravity causes the structures of our throat to fall more posteriorly blocking the airwaves, which in turn cause vibrations, thus the classic snoring sound occurs. I think it's wise to wake up those who snore, so as to prevent complete blockage of the airways.

You know, I don't remember. I never seem to be up then.

But I'm told I air flute in my sleep. Weird, eh?

That is very considerate,Nevertheless, those that have tried to wake me from my snoring slumber have wished that they hadn't.

I have snored since I was about 11 years of age.I always fall onto my back during sleep and, therefore start snoring.

I was thinking of buying those strips that you stick across your nose that open up the nasal passages. But, to look like Adam Ant,even in my sleep,is just too much of a no-no.

Yes, that's very considerate, especially considering that there are some people who SNORE LIKE TRUCKS EVERY SECOND!!!

Sorry dad, but I think you know who I'm talking about.
