Indeed, and he is not one to shy away from letting others know of his fanboyism... add that to the fact that there have no insults or name calling whatsoever in this thread so far (not only is Rush THE band, it seems that the fans are THE fans as well, here are a few clappies for you all )... we seem to be boycotted from the admins and collabs... "Shut Up Shuttin' Up" which comes from a famous Bugs Bunny line, is my favorite of that album. Always puts a smile on my face.

I haven't heard Lifer. Is it Alex's son's band?

While I'm at it, do you think Lifeson's participation on PT's latest could ignite a spark strong enough for Steven Wilson to produce the next Rush album ?  That would kill !!!

It is classic Lifeson.  The lead sounds similar to a Rush song but I can't put my finger on which.  Of all offerings he's provided to other bands/artists, this one, in my book really captured the feel of the song. Is there any Wilson discussion on the meeting and events in the studio surrounding this?

If Wilson were to produce the next album, I would be very interested. But in reality, I love so much Snakes and Arrows, I almost hope they keep Nick Raskulinecz.  Having someone produce your music who loves your music and history certainly proved to be a plus for the album.

Side note: I wouldn't mind if Rush put out another album and didn't tour. I need more new Rush!!!!!!  The anxiety really impacted me w/ S&A. No other Rush release had done that. Not sure why though.

The interview on this site of Steven Wilson touched on this a little.  He was asked about having Robert Fripp and Alex Lifeson play on FOABP and Steven Wilson said that he was a big fan of Rush growing up, and that he had read an interview with Alex where Alex said he was a fan of PT.  For that reason, his people contacted Alex's people and we now have Anesthetize.  If their schedules were to permit it, I would think that Steven Wilson would be thrilled with the chance to work with Rush.

poor Presto? I kindly disagree and suggest you re listen to Show Don't Tell, Chain Lightning, and Anagram.

Alex Lifeson may be no Satrani, but he sure knows how to play a heart felt lead.
