Someone has been trying in the last weeks to sell these two PHOENIX albums on Ebay:
4.45 Cantofabule (Cantafabule) (1975) (link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280140837941&ih=018&category=307&ssPageName=WDVW&rd=1) and 4.44 Cei Ce Ne-Au Dat Nume (1973) (link: http://cgi.ebay.com/CD-PSYCH-PROGRESSIVE-PHOENIX-CEI-CE-NE-AU-DAT-NUME_W0QQitemZ280140837952QQihZ018QQcategoryZ307QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) These are two of the most essential and pivotal works of Romanian prog-folk band Phoenix; the music is heavy prog-folk with Jethro Tull influences (Stand Up-->Aqualung era) and traditional folklore music themes. For "Cantafabule" there is an excellent Sean Trane review here: http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=120647 The two albums on sale are actually the CD remasters from the 90s, which is also why the covers differ from those on the band's page here on PA. The sound job done for the remasters is excellent and the price is excellent! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! |

For Prog metal
Martyr - Their most recent "Feeding the abscess" is insanely technical and includes a piece in four movements. Not to mention a cover of one of Voivod's most progressive songs "Brain Scan". High quality recording on this release. There previous album "Warp Zone" was also very technical, but the latest tkes it to a whole new level.
The media links are broken on their site. Check their MySpace page for audio samples

Koenjihyakkei - Nivraym
or Koenjihyakkei - Angher Shisspa AMAZING zeuhl-influenced band with technical proficiency far beyond most. very riff-based written in almost exclusively odd meters. fantastic stuff. |

Phlox from Tallinn Estonia
Great heavy fusion, with a tinge of Zeuhl. Well worth being included in PA.
