There are quite a few Egyptian dieties in the archive, (Ra, Amon, Isis, Osaris, Horus etc etc) though I cannot fit any of them with the second part of the clue - if heavy accent referes to translating part of the name from a non-English language then I'm beat.

Amon Düül II ?? I'm not convinced, I don't think Amun was cheated on and I can't think how deal would be pronounce du-ul. Meh, I'm just clutching at straws

it is Amon Düül indeed. to explain the riddle:
someone who has been sexually betrayed is also called being "horned" in many languages, not only English; try making the sign of two horns with little and index finger at a bus driver who closed the door into your face in Italy, and he will stop the bus and come at you (happened to us on our honeymoon in Firenze when Friede made the sign at a bus driver ). "a horned man is a monster, Iago" (Othello). Amon is of course a God that is usually depicted with ram's horns. as to the second part: most native English speakers will pronounce "Düül" "Duul" first. if shown how to pronounce it, the best they can usually come up with is something that sounds more like "Deal" than "Düül". I still have slight difficulties with the "ü" sound, although having lived in Germany for 14 years now; it is one of the ways my accent shows Edited by BaldJean - August 19 2007 at 08:52 |

^ thanks for the explanation - I missed the cuckold's horns - silly of me. I always have problems pronouncing Düül, or even the ü vowel inparticular. I assume üü is a dipthong in Turkish, but it's pronounciation is beyond me - I would also imagine that the band themselves would pronounce it with a German accent - possibly seperating the word into into two syllables so that the first ü would sound different to the second. In English umlouts are unknown and any double vowel is pronounced as the single but held for longer so I guess in my head I pronounce it Deul but it rarely crops up in spoken conversation where I live
anyway, my next clue - sounds like the script's singer Edited by darqdean - August 19 2007 at 08:43 |

in German double vowels are pronounced as long vowels too, so Friede and I pronounce the "üü" as a long "ü", or rather she does and I try to . you may not know, but I am American by birth and came to Germany in 1993 |

then it is Peter Hammill. I know Fish tries very hard to sound like him; not for nothing does the cover of "Fugazi" show two Hammill albums ("Fool's Mate" and "Over") lying on the floor. most people think he tires to imitate Gabriel though; what they don't know is that Gabriel tried to imitate Hammill

I wouldn't guess Amon Düül II, honestly.
But I don't have any problems with the pronunciation of ü, instead...

The new one is very cryptic again - you like to make it difficult, don't you Jean?

to be honest, I think the first part is pretty obvious, and if you have guessed that you know it all. there is a very famous story about Suzannah and a king. you may, however, not remember the husbands name. I like to use riddles with references to ancient history, since I have a bachelor degree in it |
