Topic: "Ignore user" button Posted: August 14 2007 at 00:21 |
OK, the forums really need the "Ignore User" button. I'm officially calling the site owners & admins for this improvement. Otherwise, stupidity and indignation will fight against each other with unpleasant means, making this place less fun & amiable. Or maybe a combined test of intelligence and common sense should be implemented in the registration process? Thanks.

You were being serious in the weak albums thread about ignoring Schizo, and I though you weren't. I'm suggesting you just... ignore them by not paying attention to their posts.

Oh, right. I thought you were suggesting some of my secret buttons from inside my head... You wouldn't want me to activate any of those buttons...

or at least we could have a button to hide other people post (in our screen only, obviously)

Bad idea, cause if anyone quotes that person or replies to that quote, you'll have no idea what they're talking about...just ignore them yourself.

That's exactly what the ignore button does. Of course it's not effective against quotes but it's a start. No official stand here?

We could have IQ tests for all members and construct the forums so that a certain IQ level is required to post.
As an example we could raise the IQ requirement to say 130 for someone to post in the Intelligent Persons Thread.
I can see it now....
Hmmm, IQ of 82...
Well, this is a Country and Western forum so... go ahead and post!

If the admins do create an "ignore user" button, I would like to be able to use it to ignore myself. I can't stand some of the crap I spew out.

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Instead of ignoring someone, try not caring. Works for me. Best not to take things said on a message board too seriously.

Why don't you just not come onto the forums, that way you're ignoring everyone. I'm a genius.

I support the "ignore user" option... There are some members worth ignoring... and maybe some will use that with me.. specially post-rock lovers (even though some ignore me without that button )
