OMG!!! The convention is here.. I live in the "War Zone", 1 block from MSG. My street is blocked off to all by cops, FBI and Secret Service... there are about 10 helicopters flying low over my house at all times... the sirens are off continuously... and you can hear the cops in discussion outside my apt. How long does this bleeding thing last???
So last night I go to the pub, and all the FBI and Secret Service are hanging out in my local pub.. which makes you feel safe...yeh[:}] One told me, I'm living in the safest neighborhood in the world... I said "Please don't count on it" These helicopters are driving me batty.... and we've had the funniest protesters this time... Naked people with Bush paintings on their body with the stamp out sign.. in specific places...hehe..Getting arrested at the Plaza Hotel for hanging Bush Must Go banners off the roof of the hotel.. Theres a protesters bowling contest at the Chelsea Piers bowling alley.. if you can find the ball with Bush's face you win prizes.. if you can knock down the pins... Its like our own special Olympics.... |

So the reason my street is blocked off is because this is where the charter busses for the delegates sit all night with their motors running. All down my block... they sat for hours last night... between that noise and the helicopters... I had to put all the windows down and turn the AC full blast just to curb the noise. Also last night I went to the deli and on the corner of my street was about 100 cops in riot gear.. standing against the barricade... looking down 8th Ave. So I asked one what the show was for.. and he said he couldn't tell me cause that would be a breach of security... How funny is that?? Then in the distance I could see tons of siren lights.. so I said "Bush is coming, huh??".. and he just smiled. Edited by threefates |

Yeh, and now I'm out of diet pepsi... that usually makes me violent.. so I have to get my drivers license and try to get thru those cops in the top picture into that deli.... wish me luck!!!

Well last night was a bit intense. The protesters had loud speakers.. and they got clear up to my block.. so it was really loud there for awhile.. with the protesters and all the newscrews. and then about 50 cops on horses.. now that I had to lean out the window to watch...
But then it was all over and today, they're just cleaning up the mess... |
