<--yawns and stretches, opens his eyes, picks his nose and scratches his... --> I like the Lamb more, And then there were three was always a bit painful to listen to on LP, too compressed (remember they needed to lower the bass input to press the 50+ minutes of every Genesis record on to vinyl), too shrill, but the remaster arranged that and now the 5.1 is like from another world, and NO! I am not receiving commissions from Camino Records or whatever ![]()
And no prog rock doesn't mean it has to be progressive literally and forcibly change, my definition (until the web came and erased all holes in knowledge) was that it was ,normally, music you couldn't dance to and that women didn't like (for the most) :-) Famous Sleeping M. |

It's not dangerous to voice your opinion at PA at all. It is inadvisable though to talk down to people.
Your opinion is just that - your opinion. You are quite entitled to come here and voice your opinion, your theories about Prog, The Universe, Everything and even post-Prog Genesis. Just try not to act like we haven't heard it all before... ![]() |

No... they're even "worse" (if the term applies) as they're actual FANS OF THE PERSON... they will forgive her everything, if she does booze, drugs, sex with a whole army platoon, shaves his head, whatever... She may go and kill somebody and her fanboys would say there was some justification... At least we prog fanboys are fans mostly of the music..... And of course sometimes we like some prog masters a lot.... But please.... If Phil Collins shaved his head, do you really think we'd still love him?

Because the actual topic is not that bad....
Because we have to make our points clear....
Because it's late at night and I have to find a justification for my being so idiot as to be in the internet when I should be sleeping...

Some months ago I wrote about this, but it's related.
I was watching A&E and they were passing a day in Chicago Airport, amopng the real problems, traghgedies, etc, there were 4 guys in their late teens early 20's (Big enough) in frapper costume running all around the airport because someone said Eminem was going to stop there.
The guys were a menace, they entered everywhere, shouted Eminem's name, etc, until a police woman stopped them while the cameras filmed.
The older guy shouted I want to see Eminem because he's my idol, he's "da man", I want to be like him when i grow (For God's sake the guy was in his 20's!!!)
They said that if Eminem shaked their hand this would be the best day in their existence, that they knew he would probably be in a VIP room not to mess with normal humans
![]() At the end a clerck checked the passengers list (Something I believe is illegal) and told them Eminem was not going to be in Chicago Airport that day, you should see their faces, they hugged each other in comfort, one of them even let some tears go down his face, but he got brave and shouted "Not today, but some day i will shake his hand"
Can somebody say they are not worst than us??????
Iván

That was what you actually wrote, and it makes you different from blind fanboys, not 'us'. Lots of Rush, Iron Maiden and so on... fans are faithful for 20-30 years, collecting everything. None of the Britney fanatics will stay that way longer than the Spice Girls fanatics did. Fanboyism that can last for 20-30 years never happens with producer-products like Britney, that's why these artists always disappear. Look at Britney's forerunners in the 80's. The whole Stock/Aitken/Wateman gang (atleast in Europe). The only one with the slightest relevance is Kylie Minougue, because she was brought back to life, when getting murdered by Nick Cave. Madonna has outlasted all of them because she's got talent for writing hits herself (and she's better and smarter), and has always managed to get new fans to her music. While Jethro Tull lasted through the 80's mostly on ageing, faihtful fans buying their records, going to their concerts no matter how awful or irrelevant their music had gotten. |

I doubt if anyone here could be accused of being regressive - everyone has their favourite bands and their favourite band's "best" period, i guess if you ask any musician which is their best album they will say "the next". The late 60's and early 70's were a very fruitful and influential period for rock music, as is today, but maybe some of the best music has still yet to be written...? |

Jethro Tull is the only band listed on this site that has visited my country... that means that:
- either they can afford to visit such an a-musical place
- they're so past their primer they HAVE to visit weird, a-musical places...
