I recently pondered upon this thought today. I believe that Jimi Hendrix can be considered prog because, in essence the word "prog" is actually progressive, and during his time, he was certainly a progressive artist when comparing his style to those of his peers. Whatya think?

No. This has been discussed to death. This is also in the wrong forum (should be suggest new artists; but don't post it there because it's already been beaten to death).
