I know it's Jake's turn, but I want to have another go, so I shall!

I'm off to bed now, but tomorrow I expect to read here which of Euclid's 5 postulates you mean.... Assuming the 5th, but don't want to waste time if it's not.

I knew Friede would get it. Well done.
![]() Although I don't think the clue was hard enough. Oh, it's your turn, Friede, although it's still Jake's turn as well. Edited by Geck0 - July 29 2007 at 18:02 |

I changed it before you notices... (besides, the answer has come in now). I meant "A Euclid postulate". ![]() Edited by Geck0 - July 29 2007 at 18:03 |

Gecko, I studied maths and was a child prodigy at it; I had already taught myself the maths of 13th grade (we have 13 grades in Germany) when I was still an 8th-grader. OK, here goes mine: The metaphysical opposite to Schroedinger's Cat. Edited by BaldFriede - July 29 2007 at 18:15 |

Friede, I have a question to you. I saw once you wrote a certain surname as Suhrkamp, whereas it is stated as Surkamp here in PA. Some posts before yours in the same thread I wrote Suhrkamp, then looked at the band's page, and changed it to Surkamp. I also remember (I hope I remember it rightly) that the surname of Hermann Hesse's books was written as Suhrkamp. So, which variant is right?
Thanks in advance.

I so want to say Pavlov's Dog - but that answer is far to obvious for Friede's clue.

Pavlov's Dog Of course, Po90 are linked to VdGG in a way too, so I knew you'd get it eventually. If Pavlov's Dog's correct, then here's my next band/artist clue: Erasmus' (ape-portrayed) grandson who could wind up this apparatus in our current time. Also a book. Yes it is.
I'll explain why Pavlov's Dog is the metaphysical opposite of Schrödinger's Cat: Pavlov's Dog is a symbol for determinateness: You ring the bell and the dog will drool. Schrödinger's Cat is a symbol for indeterminateness: You won''t know what the cat will be like until you open the box. Edited by BaldFriede - July 29 2007 at 18:49 |

Suhrkamp is a publishing house in Germany. They published some of Hesse's books. |

Erasmus' grandson is Charles Darwin, but I can't see him wind up an apparatus. After checking with the archives I find out it is Darwin's Radio.

I know that. My question was whether the surname of Pavlov's Dog vocalist also has an "h" in his surname, as the publisher's surname does. I asked you as you are the native speaker of German.

Didcot Windscale Chernobyl This could go on for ages. However, I think the clue is indeed cryptic. |
