does it really annoy anyone else that there's pauses between tracks in itunes?

i mean when listening to "Dark Side of the Moon" or "Fragile" or "Scenes from a Memory" who wants a pause between the songs?

am i right people?

Get Winamp, and go to the winamp website and download a plug-in called mp3 splice or something:

www.winamp.com

Here's a gap killer plug-in:

http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=112588

If that doesn't work, try this one:

http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=107818

Does anyone know any similar plug-ins for i-tunes?

I am annoyed with the whole iPod Shuffle package.  iTunes is the least user-friendly mp3 playing software out there IMO, and you never know what tune is playing or coming next on the shuffle, unlike the regular thumb-drive size mp3 player for 1/3 the price!  Yeah, you could say I really hate the ***king software and hardware to go with it!

Seeings as this thread is pushing two years old now, I assume you were using a now old version of iTunes at the time of writing.

In the latest version (7.2 I believe?), simply highlight the tracks you wish to remove the playback gaps from, right click and select 'Get Info'.

Then in the drop down box entitled 'Gapless Album' select Yes, click the arrow to apply these changes, and problem (hopefully) solved.

You've probably already figured this out a long time ago but oh well.

The biggest complaint I have with iTunes is that I cannot control where it stores files.

Sure, I can tell it to save the mp3's to any location on my PC - but it still keeps its internal files, the index-database and all the album-cover images in My Documents.

Which does me no favours as my laptop is synchronised with my work desktop PC via a VPN network, so I have one My Documents shared between two PC's. Now my laptop goes looking for the mp3 tracks on a disc it doesn't have - and then updates the index because it cannot find them. So when I go back to the desktop the updated index no longer has the tracks in its dbase so I cannot play them there either.

Come the revolution both Steve Jobs and Bill Gates will be amoung the first to the wall. Angry

I don't have any of those problems. Works like a dream for me.

Maybe you all need to get Macs.

the only problem I have with iTunes is that I have to tell it to stop after an album finishes, or elsse it keeps playing through my entire library. So if I'
m lying in bed listening to music. I have to get up and walk over to my computer rather than just go to sleep. The only way to get around this as far as I can tell is to make seperate playlists for every album you own, but that's unrealistic.

^ erm, iTunes can play seperate albums without running-on. Just click on the album in the Albums column of the Music Browser.

Yes that annoys me too. I only hope with future editions of iTunes that this problem is sorted out. I'm not hopeful though...

I don't know if my problem is with ITunes, or if it is with McAfee virus protection, but each song as it plays gets interrrupted/distorted about 8-10 seconds in.  Otherwise it plays fine.  I think that it might be the McAfee checking the song for a virus or something which causes the song to become distorted.  Has anybody else had this problem?  Any suggestions?

itunes is annoying by definition. Come to think of it, everything Apple makes is annoying especially their marketing. Elitist f**ks.
