RIO Drop-In Centre

I have a similar issue about all those Zappa albums taking over the RIO/Avant-Prog page... I'm not sure what we can do though.  I am hoping the eras/schools idea that we put into place will mean we can also sort per era (using the new algorithm).

If not, then I don't know what... in some ways, I agree he could move to Art Rock, as he wasn't purely an avant artist.

Thoughts?

Regarding Univers Zero, if you do not like dissonance, you will probably not enjoy them at all.  They tend towards the extremely dark and murky side of chamber rock (hmm, don't they all?).  Anyway, the arguably best release of theirs is "Ceux Du Dehors", it is the culmination of all of their ideas and is rather focused and dense, while being very layered in the instrumentation.....It is my personal favorite, even though those early ones (heresie, 1313, crawling wind) are excellent as well.

I would recommend you check out Thinking Plague, as I like them better than UZ (personally).  They have more guitar work, but be forewarned, it does go rather atonal and dissonant at times, but they are exceptional in the field...they seem to lean more towards rock than UZ as well, for what its worth......if you don't like dissonance, you probably will not like lots of RIO......

and then everyone who hasn' t already:  Rich Woodson's Ellipsis (both albums:  "the nail that stands up gets pounded down, control and resistance) are great examples of controlled chaos with regular helpings of dissonance that is tastey!

This is definitely very helpful, thanks a lot. I try to only get single albums at a time so I can properly get into them, so I'll start with DAAU's "Domestic Wildlife".

Nice to see you've not lost your sense of humour, Assaf! 

I did start a bio for Afenginn a while back and I'll try and make an effort to finish it soon.  Then I'll add them.

I've also started writing out questions for that future interview.
