I'm going to go out on somewhat of a limb and suggest Modern Music by Be Bop Deluxe.
It's different in style, but it consists of lot's of short pieces that run together smoothly and it's great, under-appreciated music. |

Genesis-Lamb lies down on broadway(Eno was involved with this album although I'm not quite sure in what capacity(he's listed in the credits under "enossification"). The album is hard to figure out lyrically but it is mostly shorter pieces. Lots of stuff going on with it although it might take a while to get into it. A very interesting album though especially if you like shorter tracks that sometimes flow into eachother.
Also, Pink Floyd-the Wall
Gentle Giant has mostly shorter songs on their albums too(Octopus might be right up your alley-8 songs all relatively short but still very much prog). Edited by Prog_Traveller - July 19 2007 at 22:26 |

If you are into metal, the I would suggest Fredik Thordendal´s Special Defects - Sol Niger Within its like a 50 minutes song or so, divided into I dont knwo how many small parts, each of them very experimental... cool stuff

on that note if you want to get even wierder than that, understandable, i need to , then check out Melt Banana. Not really prog, but excellent short songs! Your best bet is with Fantomas indeed for the metal Avant Garde short songs.

Also, "Ur Trollkarlens Hatt" by Bo Hansson.
The tracks are longer, and better, and still holds almost the same variation as "Sagan om Ringen".

^agree!
Also, if you like metal and avant-garde music, I'd recommend Fantômas first album. Really short and hugely experimental tracks, but it's awesome overall

Try Robert Wyatt's gorgeous' SHLEEP, on which Eno himself appears. A delightfully dreamy album. Another fascinating collaboration is WRONG WAY UP, by Eno and John Cale. |

Brian Eno + David Byrne: My Life in the Bush of Ghosts
You'll never hear anything like it again. Kind of like Talking Heads (go figure) but even weirder! |

i love how "Another Green World" flows perfectly from a guitar-riff instrumental to gentle piano to floating/flowing synthesizer to cute little pop songs back to beat-based songs
diversity-i want 75 million different music styles...in 40 minutes

yeah sorry...i was too lazy to go in depth in explaining what i meant......
i'm not really looking for something like Abbey Road's final medley but more along the lines of Eno's "Music For Films" or "Another Green World"...in short, a bunch of half-song ditties (under 4 minutes) that may be diverse or experimental, may be instrumental or lyrical...that would make up an album
my best example is probably 666.....the songs are so experimental that if they were typical song length (4 minutes)..they wouldnt be that good...but since their only 1-2 minutes, theyre interesting
i apologize for the vagueness...and i probably have only further confused you.....but i love 666 and Another Green World
perhaps a perfect example would be We're Only In It For the Money or Absolutely Free (though they are extended suites)....
i just want similar examples that are good....thanks for pointing this out...it needed to be explained more in-depthly

Do you mean, like, a bunch of short songs, or a bunch of short songs that flow as one?
