Couldn't have put it better myself!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Just been listening to Tim Hodgkinson's Each In Our Own Thoughts. It's a kind of semi reunion for Henry Cow, as Chris Cutler, Lindsay Cooper and Dagmar all appear on a recording of the last, 'lost' Henry Cow epic Hold to the Zero Burn. It's intense stuff, sort of half way between Western Culture and Art Bears, but on balance I think it was better that Western Culture was a purely instrumental album. Well worth checking out in any case.

Here are some new juicy information on the Finnish band Circle (I know there are some fans amongst here and this is probably the best place to say it so...) :
" By the way, while we've got your attention, may as well let you know to look forward to another new Circle album coming out on No Quarter in September. Haven't heard it yet, but Jussi from Circle tells us it sounds like "60's black metal"... whatever that means! No doubt more surprises in store. " Like the latest Circle albums, this one will be turning heads as well. Miljard was the "NWOFHM" Tower was the "NW of the NWOFHM" Panic was "Finland Speed-Kraut Pioneers" and now this... Can't wait! ![]() |

Ruben great news, it seemed like only yesterday there 'other' most recent album was coming out. A rather prolific band. I really need to listen to their music more carefully, I'm looking forward to reading some of your reviews. I don't think you can go wrong with '60s black metal!!

Not RIO/Avant-Prog, but Kevin Ayers has a new album coming out later this year, featuring such guests as Robert Wyatt and Hugh Hopper. Sounds promising!
Also, don't forget that Wyatt himself is releasing a new album. It could be a good year! |

It's in the Announcements thread somewhere...
As posted by Chopper in June: Details about the new Robert Wyatt album "Comicopera" have been released. The former Soft Machine member and revered musician has finished recording and self-producing the follow-up to his Mercury Music Prize nominated "Cuckooland" and it features several guest artists across it's three 'acts.' Paul Weller, Brian Eno and Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera all appear on the new record, and Wyatt says he was aiming to capture the sound of the group together. He says: "Music isn't just an abstract pleasure, it is a company, when you play a record. Why I like Duke Ellington and Charles Mingus, the Big Bands -is because every character in the band is identifiable as that person - there's this group of humans in a room." "Comicopera" is divided into three acts- 'Lost In Noise', 'The Here And The Now', and 'Away With The Fairies'. The full tracklisting is as follows: Act One: Lost In Noise 1 Stay Tunes 2 Just As You Are 3 You You 4 A.W.O.L. 5 Anachronist Act Two: The Here And The Now 6 A Beautiful Peace 7 Be Serious 8 On The Town Square 9 Mob Rule 10 A Beautiful War 11 Out of The Blue Act Three: Away With The Fairies 12 Del Mondo 13 Cancion de Julieta 14 Pastafari 15 Fragment 16 Hasta Siempre The album is released through Domino on October 8. For further details go to Domino's official label website here Edited by Geck0 - July 02 2007 at 22:57 |

If you need some of their albums then feel free to PM me. I'm in another forum that are building up their discography! So this is a good alternative since they have so many out-of-print releases that is hard to get them all. Oh! and another thing... They're cleared for addition!! ![]() |

Your post inspired me to check this group out. Heard of them before, but never actually heard them. And i have to say i'm glad i did! VERY glad! I'm listening to Pori now, and going to be purchasing Forest soon. It's a shame so many of their albums seem to be discontinued. If you wouldn't mind i'd like to join your queue as well ![]() |

To revive a bit this thread here is something that might interest you folks:
"Dropkin is an avant-rock band with music by Roy Yarkoni. The lyrics are Hebrew translations of poems by the Yiddish modernist Celia Dropkin (1887-1956). Her work is intensely personal, rich with violent sexuality, intense longing, and strange explorations of family dynamics. The music, like her poetry, is ambitious, sensual, and a bit scary."
Here is what Udi Koomran says about the recording process:
"The mixes for Roy Yarkoni's (Ahvak) new band Dropkin featuring Jewlia Eisenberg need some more tweaking and retweaking - we will see when this project will see the light of day it seems very promising."

received this in the mail by accident instead of fred frith's accidental. it's pretty weird...perhaps weirder than accidental. 1 cd, 52 tracks. written, recorded, all instruments and vocals by bob drake. reminds me of a mix between frith and sir millard haha. |

i haven't decided yet. each of the 52 tracks are so short that you can't gain any sense of direction or purpose to the album...at least not right away. it's an interesting concept and i'm willing to give it several listens to find out what its about.

![]() That must have been a wonderful show! 77 drummers and 77 minutes of krautrock delight. This is sooo much better than Live Earth. ![]() I do hope they release an official dvd of this. Thanks for the news Adam! |

I will be seeing Boredoms (& ES) next month. ![]() I'm in a bit of a hurry though, since obviously I need to get acquainted with their music before the gig... and I haven't heard any of their full albums yet. Luckily Joren gave me some good tips on what to get. |
