It won't make any sense to English speakers (¡learn spanish already!), but every single band listen in "bandasdechile.cl" would bring the end of mankind due to extreme laughing. "Superdeaf", "Perez's fathers", "I prefer Fernández", "BLack tuesday", "Nothing special", "Deficient", "80's superband",

Totally awesome name. If it wasn't already taken, I'd start a band and use that name! |

But it is taken already. Check the website at http://www.bandas de chile.cl. Go to "Buscar bandas", and then, copy paste bands names into anyonline translator, or send a message to me, and I'll translate. The possible laugh is worth the translate effort. |

Ok...some unimaginative names...all three are bands that I really dig too.
PFM - named after a bakery.
Banco - named after a bank.
Bruford - named after a drummer.
Such imaginative music, such unimaginative names.
But if it's gross names that we are talking about, there was a Cincinnati band that went by the name of Bloody Discharge. Edited by The Doctor - July 05 2007 at 20:29 |

You got my vote. Also I can't stop noticing how people who have a (hidden or not) problem with the classic bands' music say their names are "objectively" bad. |

Those two are actually pretty good names, in my opinion. The music, however, is a different matter. |

in the year of 1966, Keith Moon was readdy to left The Who coz of one fight with Pete Townshend in the studio... it was really fight, and Keith said to Pete that he will founded his own band with tne name - Led Zeppelin! Pete was very angree to his drummer and said that "new" Moon's band is a very stupid idea, "as same as new band name". ok, so few years after, (1968) Moon said to Page & Co ("New Yardbirds" ) to named their new as Led Zeppelin. this is a true story! |

It's a true legend, but the exact details are fuzzy... the phrase "it'll go over like a lead balloon" already existed and was modified to 'zeppelin'. Whomever decided to use it for a band name and how that got transferd to Page's band is unclear. Peter Grant decided to change the spelling of 'lead' to 'led' to avoid mispronounciation and cause it was more fun a name. Edited by Atavachron - July 06 2007 at 22:29 |

Mmm? Pot to kettle, I guess. And yes, I do think names like Genesis, Yes or Gentle Giant (even though the latter band is nothing short of awesome) are as bad as the ones mentioned by Phileas. |
