I write acoustic 'pop' (think 60's) stuff with a friend of mine, but we also do long jams and the occasional prog piece (he's not too keen on prog, yet...). When I play on my own, I do fusion and classical sounding stuff. I usually just do lengthy improvs (my speciality!). Prog being my #1 influence, weird melodies and time signatures always show up when I'm at the helm of a guitar! Influences...king crimson, yes, elp, genesis, gentle giant, jethro tull, pink floyd, rush, return to forever, anything classical, jazz fusion, psych pop, and just a bit of metal (for sudden dynamic changes!)

Hello, everyone!

I guess the term progressive electronic rock (or "progtronic rock") would work in my case. I like aggressive guitars, synths, basses and acoustic drums, with a far amount of counterpoint. The pieces are all instrumentals.

I suppose I do not like the more meandering parts of progressive rock. But I love old Rush, like Hemispheres.

New technologies have expanded the horizon of what I can do, but the learning curve can be tough.
