Experimental/Post rock Appreciation Threa

A great concert scott! Please past my compliments on to the rest of the guys. Your sound kind of reminds me of a split album I have between Organum & Eddie Prévost called Crux/Flayed, this is mostly strongly through the more ambient parts.

What sort of analog sythn are you guys using?

Are there any of ideas of making documentations of your music in hard copies?

I just listened to the Dirty Three debut, early post-rock, lots of sound fusion, a great violin play (almost the first touch that will lead to Trudeau's master-string, later on GYBE, Silver Mt. Zion etc. ), dark vibes and very interesting marks of music. A bit stretchy and long, a bit noisy and out-of-experimentalism, yet good and fisting.

Haha, I have a feeling a lot of Dream Theater fans wouldn't be too interested in conversing about drone!

I've actually been tossing up the option of purchasing an analog synth for sometime now.

I will send a message their way sometime soon. I will also send you a sample of the Organum track. I'm not sure what all their material is like as this is my first album by the band. The Eddie Prévost is a little different, he was the drummer/percussionist for the improv band AMM.

Hey chamberry - have you heard of a band called Tulsa Drone?  Listening to their wonderful album called Songs from a Mean Season right now.

Sorry rushaholic, but I haven't heard of them, although I've heard good things from them.

Wake:Sleep is a beautiful album and it has a warm and nostalgic feeling to it. I really enjoyed it, but the las song, "The Shipwreck", was a bit too much.

Great work on the additions. I have not really been dedicating to much time to post-rock at this point. But I recently aquired a split album between Godspeed You! Black Emperor & low called Do You Know How To Waltz?. I have not listened it yet, but if any one is interested in some samples just give me a PM.

I will try and get those videos down over the next week or so, they look really good. If they are anything like the A Silver Mt Zion you sent before I'm sold.   

Also getting solid rotations in the player is Kammerflimmer Kollektief - Hysteria. I have talked about this German band before, for their interesting fusion of electronics and post-rock. Back then I had only heard one of their later albums. Hysteria comes a little earlier on while the band is highly experiment, sort of crossing electro-acoustics, improv and post-rock. This is really original stuff, which I can happily recommend. Alongside Godspeed they are becoming one of my favourite post-rock bands. While they are not epic in the proportion of many of the other bands, they have superb song writing and amazing textures and atmosphere.

I've heard that the recording was a live bootleg from an European tour. About 30 minutes in length.
