Well Benny Goodman was one of the first "clarinet heroes"; for me there's no comparison, both are good in their own time.

If I'm not mistaken, we have them in the list of bands to be added... great band and interesting to know how Michael and Randy Brecker were in those years

A bit more carefully structured than most simple jam jazz, at least to me.

Their 3 Live, separately issued albums are certainly worth getting. But "weird": perhaps compared to RTF's RW, but I would place them musically round about the middle of modern jazz rock fusion.
Now listening to Michael Brecker's The Pilgrimage - powerful blowing from a man who knew this was his swansong. Metheny Mehldau, Patitucci and De Johnette, give this album an allstar cast.

I've started John McLaughlin, integrally.
I really liked Devotion, it has really acid parts and guitar hackles, very good for the time's sensation. |

hey guys, can anyone tell me how Stromboli fit the jazz-rock/fusion genre? I've just listened to their second album and, besides the fact that I don't like the music (read mee review), I found mainstream rock, eclectic vocals and small pop-art in their attitude. Don't know the debut double album, but it couldn't be that changed, right?

My share of McLaughlin: Electric Guitarist
not quite the best, yet some fusion moments do the excellent trick. |
