Oh, and I must add that as the premier prog site on the net, we were woefully under represented. Progressive Ears is all over that place.

nice review.
This was my 7th Nearfest and this time around I liked every band that played.
Tops were Magma, Magenta, Allan Holdsworth, Hawkwind and PRR.
Here are Fusion Friday pics
Here are Nearfest Day one pictures:
Still working on day 2

HT, I'm thrilled to hear how great IZZ was - you have no idea how bummed I am that I couldn't get over to see them (seeing as I live in eastern Pennsylvania! ). The band (as well as Laura Meade's solo offering which is fantastic) are probably my favorite artists at the moment, prog or otherwise. Their website says they are now headed into the studio so expect more great things from this incredible band.

Dude, I can understand your reaction to the live aspect, but Robert Rich's music is awesome!

Just not my thing. I've never understood focusing on something that was intended to be in the background.

Finally finished day three of Nearfest.
I liked Robert Rich's atmospheric sounds. Pure Reason had a nice set although some was programmed and Magma was a magnificant way to end the weekend.

Very good review! I wish I was there... Maybe in 2008 I might lose my mind and go there!
