Power Chords may seem to be somewhat simplistic ... but you can actually use them in complex arrangements, so the term "Power Chord Academy" is not per se a contradiction in terms.

I think the word "joke" is a very loose description of this.

Oh sorry guys.... Well I'm referring to advertisements on the home page... one of the advertisements is a banner for "Power Chord Academy". I just laughed when i saw it, and I figured you guys would, too.
Somertimes the advertisement will say something like "Learn to Play! Write a Song! Record an Album! Make a MTV Video!"

well NEVERMIND then.
I think the advertisements you see depend on what part of the globe you're at. Apparently Dallas, Texas, USA is chock-full of potential Power Chord Academy scholars... Alot of people around here do like ACDC...... maybe they're on to something. I guess you could google it if you're curious. |

Wow, I've been seeing that add for months. Curiosity finally got the better of me and I checked out the website. It's quite expensive to go there. I'm kind of surprised they'd advertise here so often, because I think you have to be under 18 to attend, and I would think PA would skew towards older (18+) members...

It took me a second to get the joke, but now I see why it is funny .
I think I'm better off not paying to learn power chords, I think I can handle them on my own |

A Simple Mistake: I tried returning your PM but your user name appears wrong (as 'A Simple Mistak') and I can't correct it in the PM... I let an Admin know.

the idea of 'powechord academy' just seems silly to me! What kind of musicians will that turn out...crappy ones (just kidding, I don't know for sure). I think that if you need that much help with your music, you'll never get far...oh crap, the catchy advertisement made me sign up already without even realising it! noooooooo!

Oh well I'm fully convinced that it's just another way to make money in the music industry, nothing more.
The idea is: Hey, let's get these no-talent teenagers to pay to be taught how to play some bar chords on their guitar... If they become good and go professional, then they have to pay us royalties... If they suck, well we already have their money, so win-win. It really is a good idea, if your goal is to make money.
