I received and so public the reply aside of the Oniric to some my requests:

Salve Andrea Salvador,
Rimaniamo in contatto.

Saluti onirici

Andrea salvador.

In little words:  in the media section the demo CD is free (with the cover) And for bio...  That of their internet site we can use it.   Besides the Oniric are very pleased if we introduce him in PA.

Hi friends.

Me and Mandrakeroot have seen that there is someone that is now rating with one or two stars many italian albums from the recent years and from the past. For example Primitive by The Watch has been rated with 1 star. It obviously is not a problem 'cause everyone has the right of like and dislike. The problem is that this someone is trying to downrate all that come from Italy...Confused

None of his votes has been followed by a review. It seems that an evil shadow is passing through the genre with only bad intentions...

To my warning it produce a review is more mattering than to produce a simple vow.  For me it is always that person that produces these vows.  also because not still I had introduced "planetarium" of Venegoni & Co. that already it had given 2 stars. And to say that of the album of Venegoni & Co. the sampler are only extracted some songs that don't allow to understand nothing. And the album is gone out from little.  (P.s.: in Movimenti Prog it is appraised 8/10 and it was considered really like one of the better Italian Prog album of always!!!)

Sad that this should happen, maybe a review should be mandatory for a rating, this will hurt  fans that don't speak english though. Difficult dilemma.

I also noted a not so positive review about Aries. This reviewer had listened to the album very well though and i actually agree with most of his observations. It's just that the elements that bothered him on this album are no problem to me.

You have reason Dirk.  In fact there are a lot of persons that vote but haven't the desire (or the courage?!?) to write two words to explain the reason.

I appraised 4 stars the album of the Odissea...  Even if 3 stars is the utmost.  However I caused the reason.  So it is understood that it is a personal vow, dictated from what I seek in a Prog album. Same motive for the album of the Faveravola. Why there are album that one can love for outside motive to the music.  And often are personal things.  I believe it is also a motive to know us between those and to understand because the Prog music for we is so mattering!!!

I would like to recommend an album that is too much overlooked in PA:

Ubi Maior - Nostos (2005)

A wonderful record. Too few (but fortunately enthousiastic) reviews.

Yesterday I only had in my car cd player "Nostos". All I can say is that is one of the best albums of the contemporary italian prog scene. Inspired by Biglietto per L'Inferno but original sounding plus a fantastic cover of a song by Il Balletto di Bronzo: La Tua Casa Comoda.

All in all, a great record for sure! Within Randone's Hybla Act is a must have!Clap

Long work but thanks to the site of Franco Battiato (www.battiato.it) i've completed the Battiato discography. I've added the 60's discography (all singles), English and Espanhol albums and Classical discography.

A big sweat but...  At least it is complete.

That then it is served to something...

In these days I'm listening to three albums of Banco. Come in un Ultima Cena (1976), ...di Terra (1978) and Canto di Primavera (1979).

It's hard to find out which is the best. For now I think I will go for Come in un Ultima Cena. It's strong but apparently simpler than any of the three classics with more prominent role for Francesco di Giacomo his wonderful vocals!

TORRE DELL ALCHIMISTA, LA — Neo
Review by erik neuteboom (erik neuteboom)
Special Collaborator Symphonic Prog Expert

4%20stars Since their eponymous debuut album from 2001, this Italian band has turned from a five piece formation into a quartet, on this new CD accompanied by guest musicians on flute traverse, violin, saxophone and guitar. The last years La Torre Dell’ Alchimista has performed on several festival like Nearfest 2002 in the USA and The Gouviea Art Rock Festival 2005 in Portugal, I notice this has boosted their experience and compositorial skills if you compare Neo with their debut CD.

The new album contains seven compositions (running time around 50 minutes), most sound fluent, melodic and accessible, especially the parts with vocals. I had to get used to the vocals in the first song but gradually I started to appreciate the singer and in the end I was pleased with his contributions. La Torre Dell’Alchimista their sound is drenched with a ‘vintage’ keyboards like mainly the Hammond organ (with obvious hints from Keith Emerson and Rick van der Linden during Trace) but also synthesizers (like the Minimoog), the Fender Rhodes electric piano, the Mellotron (often the violin-section) and the Grand piano. The interplay between the instruments is wonderful and colours this album very tastefully like the ‘Liturgic organ’ and violin in Medusa, a sensitive piano and violin in Risveglio Procreazione E Dubbio pt. I and flute traverse with Fender Rhodes piano and fluent synthesizer flights with intense violin in de final song Risveglio Procreazione E Dubbio pt. II. Two tracks deliver solo pieces on Grand piano: sparkling and compelling in Idra and dreamy, quite romantic in L’Amore Diverso. But I am most impressed by the lush keyboard sound featuring bombastic Hammond organ, majestic Mellotron waves and lots of fat sounding synthesizers, almost every track contain exciting keyboard work, this reminds me of fellow Seventies Italian prog legend Rustichelli & Bordini (bombastic use of Hammond and Moog) and Trace (fast Hammond runs and a wide range of vintage keyboards).

La Torre Dell’Alchimista has made a lot of progress on their new album and especially the vintage keyboard aficionados will be delighted!
