Alongside the regular CD or 16-bit "Redbook" version this album was a special edition DVD/DTS 24-bit stereo and 5.1surround recording. The pack includes a regular CD  and a 40  page booklet, which apparently only 1,000 were made, leaving many who had placed orders without a copy, and some who ordered two from different sources are now selling their spare copies for up to three times the original retail price. Fair enough, but does anyone know why the special edition was produced in such limited numbers?
I managed to get hold of a copy, mainly as the sound quality was reported to be soooo good, also i have other Porcupine Tree albums in DVD-Audio 5.1 and it seemed a shame to pass up such a brilliant album in its full glory. I'm sure a lot of fans with 5.1 set-ups were disappointed not to have got a copy, so why didn't Roadrunner/Atlantic  release more copies?Confused

I got mine for €38 from an Ebay merchant three weeks ago, and this week I saw them at a local store for €25 ... I think I'll pick up those two copies and sell them for 10 times the money a few years from now! And from that money I might pick up a copy of "Recordings" ... Wink

good idea, Mike, they're fetching over £50  on ebay at the moment, but mine's a keeper! Wink

i did hear there were some faulty copies around, and my copy refused to play in the normal way at first, but on investigation i found i needed a a Toslink cable connected from source to amplifier , so having connected that it worked fine! DTS is a slightly different format to DVD-A and requires the Toslink to work, another strange decision to use DTS instead of normal DVD-A?

I have got the regular CD version only, but being a huge PT fan myself of course I will buy this special special edition very soon, as I did with all the other previous PT recordings. Thumbs%20Up
