I kinda agree, I'm the biggest Genesis fan among my circle of friends but I can't see ordering the entire tour ... maybe if money was no object, it would be a cool collectors item.

That's cool! The Who did that with some of their tours as well, but they were available on DVD and CD. I actually own the DVD of the Boston concert I attended and I must say, it is really cool to be able to buy a CD or DVD of the concert you attended.

Even if Gabriel and Hackett were present, unless they altered their set list a great deal throughout the tour (which probably won't happen), I can't see owning the entire set of 22. I mean how many live versions of Invisible Touch does one really need? As a huge fan of Genesis however, I will probably end up getting one of the set, especially if they do a lot of numbers from Abacab backwards. |

Well, it seems that Genesis` "We are only in it for the...Hits" tour is now finished. I read in the web that they are going to release an official 2 CD set of this tour and an official DVD too. So, other than buying the concert that one person in particular attended (which is not my case - they didn`t come to play here) I`m not very interested in buying them.
Now that their banks accounts are better, I think that now they should seriously consider to join forces with Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett to play the best music they composed and recorded in their history as Genesis. I still think that a tour playing "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" is a good idea. A lot of their fans want a reunion of their best line-up. The 2007 tour was for playing Hits. Who needs to buy a new live album and DVD to see them again playing "Invisible Touch", "Home by the Sea" (this last song was included in every concert video since 1984, and it is not one of my favourites!) and other hits? I think that it is a very good idea to do a tour with Gabriel and Hackett to record a DVD which could show them playing very good music. Edited by Guillermo - November 18 2007 at 09:18 |
