Many of yuo prabably dont know this but, Joseth on kings and I are in a band!
 
I play Rythym/solo guitar, Joseth plays Drums and percussion. Our influences are Yes, Genesis, Rush, DT, Tool, and the who.
 
Our other members are: Isaac Lead guitar, sadly he cant solo (thats my jobBig%20smile). Albert is bass, he relatively new to the instrument but he's learnig fast.
 
We kinda sound metal-ish, but with a very easily distinguishable  symphonic prog sound. My guitar playing varies from the experimental drop D playing of Adam jones all the way to shred picking like petrucci (no Joke). While Joseth (we refuse to give our names) Drums with the ferocity of Keith moon, He can be very technical like peart.
 
I may able to get a video clip of us jamming with my sisters new camera.
 
I now give the floor to joseth on kings to fill you in some more...

Alright people Schizoid pretty much summed it up for ya but like he said we have kind of a progressive metal sound but we're not like scream metal or anything like that we have songs that i've written yes i'm the song writer {hope it didn't sound like i was bragging somehow} anyways our songs are pretty mixed up in different ways we're hopefully going to record this summer, but so far we have about 7 songs here's a list of the songs in case you're wondering.
1.Free Ride-6-7 mins approximately
2.Rock n Roll- about 6 mins
3.Birth of Fire-20 minuter
4.El Ovidado-40 minuter
5.Bobby McKracken-possibly 10  mins
6.Miracle Man- in progress
There's one more but it's on my other computer that crashed so i'll put it up later.
And like schizoid said our influences are Rush,Tool,Dream Theater, The Who, Yes,Genesis, Jethro Tull, Porc tree etc.
And my influences in drumming are Keith "the loon" Moon, Neil Peart, Mike Portnoy, Phil Collins, Allen White and Bill Bruford.
 
And my style of drum playing is pretty mixed I guess you could say, but I can do any beat you throw at me just give me a little time to get it down, I love playing solo's it's just fun because you can do whatever you want and with the drum set up i have there's alot to choose from.
Ok anyways back to my style of playing, I do some speed playing like double bass beats and fills with double bass in em, I also can mix up fills and put them anywhere I want to in my beats and i'm very good at changing from beat to beat and/or doing any fill and going right back into the beat without screwing it up.
 
Our new bass player is Albert he's a cool asian who is now getting into music because of me and schizoid and he wanted to pick up on bass and he's progressing very well.
 
And the lead guitarist Issac is a good guitarist he just can't solo like schizoid so we've Issac lead and schizoid rhythm/soloist.

Oh and just to let everybody know I refuse to post the lyrics to any of our songs because i don't want anyone stealing our lyrics and using them for there band if they have one.

Pretty presumptous of you.You announce you have a band,ask us what we think about it when we have no idea what you sound like.Then totally unprovoked you announce you won't post lyrics because people might steal them.
 
A.Nobody asked you to post lyrics
B.You basically said you don't trust forum members here,because we might steal your lyrics.Copyright them,then.

Sheesh..... You've got problems man, I've had people on Myspace ask me before and one time someone tried to steal them so i'm just being cautious.

 
And we're trying to make a video of us playing so you can get an idea so just chill.
