Don't worry about it. The tricky part is in recommending the ones you might like. Wink

At this point, I'm about to dive head first in to 65daysofstatic, but I'm looking for any opinions. I already really like the song Await Rescue and the 30 second samples do seem very interesting. Just figured that this thread would be the best place to discuss this band I'm about to discover.

65days is a freakin' amazing band.  I honestly cannot say I dislike any of their songs.

Go for it. Even people who dont normally get into post-rock are likely to love them, the noise side of their music is great, and blends perfectly with their delicate piano and grinding guitar.

Well I went for it and I'm really impressed. It seems like a heavier Mogwai with an electronic edge. I have to say, this is really good. I needed more energetic post-rock.

Wonderful band! Sadly I don't have their second album. Their debut is wonderful and so is their latest release, but it's more complex and harder to grasp.

I've added a video in their band page from their latest release. It's really good. Check it out! http://www.progarchives.com/media.asp?id=182

Scraps of Tape's debut and Russian Circle's Enter may be what you're looking for.

Scraps of Tape is a sort of schizophrenic post-rock. You'll never know when they're going to explode. Russian Circle is a like heavier version of Mono or EITS.

I have Enter and I agree that it's like a heavier EITS. It's probably my favorite "post-metal" album. I'll have to look out for Scraps of Tape

Yeah. Their latest release was album of the month, but they kind of lost their uniqueness that they had in their debut, although its a pretty solid album. Great songs, specially the ones with vocals in them.

It reminded me of God is an Astronaut's latest release. They lost the magic they had in All is Violent. All is Bright, but its still a great album to listen to.

The proper post-rock band name must have one or more of the following qualities

-at least 3 or 4 words
-all lowercase letters
-no spaces
-inappropriate punctuation
-If it is a single word or short phrase, it must be in a language other than English
-old english spellings to make it seem more 'cultured'

Seriously though, these bands all sound sound intriguing if only for their name.

That's pretty rad in my book.
