m3u files.....what are they? I always delete them.

These are playlists. They simply contain lists of filenames (one file per line), and if you click them all the files are played by winamp.
In the old days of Winamp 1/2 these files were all you had to organize your files, except for some instable plugins. Today every player app comes with a fully fledged media library, and nobody needs playlists anymore. |

I never use them, so I don't know. But you can easily create them with Winamp.

Ian, you should be able to create playlists with WMP -

I use Winamp meself - WMP jumps all over the place when I play MP3 or WMA files on it. |
