Oops, sorry I was very busy... I insist maybe this will be unnecessary but... I strated this and I have ti finish it... Anyway I think this gonna be very funny. I'm not a huge fan of the 80's period in the careers of Yes and Genesis but I will always be surprised by the extreme opinions of my fellow progheads about this "obscure" years... So, let's play!

As you know you have to choose your favourite album between Yes and Genesis. The tourney started with their debut albums and will stop with their 80's albums. Every round will face the next studio album of both discographies and you have to choose your favourite...

So let's vote. I don't know what I'll do at the end of the 80's but let's enjoy this musical battle...

Best regards from Chile... (This round will close next monday)

Genesis this time. The "Yellow Album" so to say.

Not that I like it a lot. Granted, there are still some good tracks on it: Home By The Sea and Mama come to mind, and even one great track (Second Home By The Sea) but for Genesis standards the album is pretty mediocre.

But Big Generator is even worse. Only one standout track (Shoot High Aim Low) and some other tracks are okay, I suppose, but the album has no direction and there are some real horrible tunes (e.g. Almost Like Love). Once again, for Yes standards. Oh yes, and the production is pretty bad too. They shouldn't have let Trevor Rabin do the job, but Trevor Horn.

So Genesis it is, but it's a choice out of poverty this time.

I actually quite like Big Generator, although I'm sure I'll be one of the few who will vote for it...

I prefer Yes - Big Generator to the Genesis 1983 selftitled album. In fact i prefer the 80s Yes work to Genesis'  (work).
