Have you ever wondered when reading a poll's posts whether most of us take the time to read the previous posts in the thread, if any at all ?
You sometimes wonder if some have even read the message to ensure that they are actually understanding the point being discussed. ( my personal example - poll on Mister Les Paul, inventor of the Les Paul guitar. Many responses referred to the guitar itself, not the man)
"Here I am talking to some of the smartest people in the world and I didn't even notice,” Lieutenant Columbo, episode The Bye-Bye Sky-High I.Q. Murder Case.

If it is a reasonable amount of pages (1 to 20) then I will read all, but it takes a while. If more than that then I read the first 2 pages and the last 3 pages....

Hmm seems no option fits what I described above so I can't vote

Depends on the topic, my attention span, the number of posts total, and other things.  There are times when I read all the posts in a topic that I'm interested in, and don't bother to reply anyway, so it's hard to say.

Depends on the subject, how many pages and howe late I come into the thread. would say, on average I read between 5 - 10 posts. I always read some, but rarely all in a long thread.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I usually scan over a few pages to get an idea of what's going on.

As few as possible. If the title isn't descriptive enough, it shouldn't warrant a coherent post.

Oh, I vote for puppies, btw.

On some sites isn't it considered bad form to not read a whole thread first?

Usually just a few, and very rarely, all the posts. But actually I don't post very often on the forum, except mainly for the "What's in you CD player right now?" topic, because of the lack of time.

I used to read all posts. Otherwise you risk to repeat something already said.
But if the topic has more than 3-4 pages I usually don't participate.

And you wonder why I create my magnificent, coherent polls.... The day of revelations is just around the corner....

By the way, I reply after reading a few posts, don't know how many, usually check the first one, then a few interesting. When the thread is new I try to read them all (when it's still DOable)... When is an old thread with 7 pages, I won't read them all..Big%20smile
