This thread has really grown in membership.
May someone pass me the bull penises?
And everyone knows the answer to life is 42.
However, to many that does not make sense, because they don't know the true QUESTION of life. Which is,
what is 6 X 9? Edited by JJLehto - May 03 2007 at 12:29 |

So true oh intelligent one. In fact, 42 is the answer to not only life but to everything.

I'm happy to partake of bull penis, but really squid penis is much better. It has the added bonus of being much more terrifying, and it comes from the ocean. What could go better with caviar?
Except, of course, for some of that claret... ::sips at the glass and nibbles at the brie:: |

This was supposed to be "The intelligent people's thread", but all I see is people talking about eating penis. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against that preference, I'm just not so sure about what does "intelligent" stands for in context.

You need some backbone, so penis equals spine.

The penises are just to show that we are more culturally developed than lesser intellects
Perhaps we should discuss philosophy to keep from getting too far astray. how about we start Berkeley's philosophy of Immaterialism or metaphysical idealism. The idea behind this is that there is no such thing as matter, everything we perceive is not physical, but rather the reflection of an idea and we, humans as thinking things, are merely collections of ideas that are capable of performing processes and operations upon them. That gets rid of the squabbling over quantum mechanics we had earlier. |

Good thinking.
Are you getting at the idea of, what is "real?"
Like, the chair I am sitting on right now is real, because I percieve it to be?
Which would mean that us humans might not be real at all... Edited by JJLehto - May 03 2007 at 14:52 |

Yeah... since I live alone, I could very well not exist because there
is no one to perceive me... and yet if someone were to enter my
demesnes who's to say that they wouldn't perceive me. Of course,
because I am alone I could create ideas of my own, such as flying pigs
and other fascinating things and until some other collection of ideas
is able to perceive or misperceive my creations, they would be as
"real" as me.

of course the brain is just an idea that we seem to think controls our processes and idea collection abilities...
Thats it! I don't believe in matter anymore! It cannot be scientifically proven. |

So, you're saying you won't believe in anything that can't be scientifically proven? There alot of things out there that can't be truly proven....you won't believe in anything man. Unless you believe in yourself, which is just a collection of thoughts. Edited by JJLehto - May 03 2007 at 15:22 |

well... I can't prove Berkeley right scientifically either, I'm just
saying that there are no grounds upon which I can be swayed.
Of course, if I were a true follower of Berkeley I guess I would be an empiricist and not believe anything unless I were able to perceive it... maybe I'll just help myself to another bull penis instead |

Let me take you down, cos I'm going to unveil my latest research.
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout.
Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see - It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out, it doesn't matter much to me No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low, that is you can't you know tune in but it's all right, that is I think it's not too bad Always, no sometimes, think it's me, but you know I know when it's a dream I think I know I mean a "Yes" but it's all wrong, that is I think I disagree. Exactly, you can't honestly believe in NOTHING since technically nothing can be really proven/disproven. I mean, everyone has beliefs.
And some bull penis sounds good.
