Topic: Prog listerners occupations Posted: April 25 2007 at 09:05 |
In my circle of friends and business relations nobody knows what prog is(maybe DT) but when i'm on PA it seems i'm not alone on my island. Just wondering, what do you all do for a living?

Well, I'm a computer programmer for a large university. Only one person I work with was familiar at all with prog, and she didn't realize that it had a name (she liked Gentle Giant, of all things, years ago).
It seems I've turned lots of friends on to prog, but rarely ever find people who are already into it. The big exception, obviously, is when I've attended NearFest. But in day to day life, I almost never meet people who are familiar with it.

Artist/painter. That means I work alone all day, which is perfect, because it allows me to listen to all the music I love all day, too.

I think I actually clicked the wrong button, and ended on white collar.

I was a minister with the Church of Scotland, but had to retire because of health problems. Now I'm a busy parent still involved unofficially in my local church when well enough. I've quite a few friends who like progressive music (to a certain extent), but most folks here have no idea what the genre is all about.

Well, professional fits best. I am an unregistered Architect. My company does mostly office interiors. We're a small firm so I also manage the computers and CAD (AutoCAD and Arch-T), do billing. And of course we're having a slow spell so I had time to pop in and answer the poll. Don't tell the bosses.

I'm working on a till in a newsagent/grocery shop, shouting "next please" with thick East-European accent. I'm not planning to do it for a long time though. Most of the time I am a printing technician/bookbinder/DTP technician/you name it.
