Well, just point out some characteristics that pretty much everybody in your country has.

I'll start ,by saying that we get excited VERY easily.Which is actually bad since we are usually disappointed really easily too!(and that's true for about everybody in Greece)

Friendly people. Lots of wine, weird feeling of derrotism, low interest in politics or civil participation. Horrible habits of throwing garbage everywhere, low culture, low appreciation of culture, just one band to really care about in the whole country. Too much into one sport (soccer). Warm at heart, somehow.

We follow trends like zombies
We're Party people (sometimes too much)
We don't take life as seriously as it should
We're very aggressive when pushed too far
We talk too loud and too fast
We're very friendly we people we rarely know
We have our heads up our arse most of the time (sadly)
We're very close with our families and friends

We are strict conservatists.
And we are afraid of the Soviet Russia, even though it no longer exists.
And we love the USA on a political level, not locally though, we all hate it.
we don't talk to people unless necessary. And if we might happen to, we feel uncomfortable.

Except for a small few, myself mostly excluded:

We are easily swayed by media/political propaganda
We are speculative of the government except in the aftermath of a crisis
We love to watch TV
We don't learn lessons from the past
We appreciate good (and bad) food
Once a fad gets started, it takes us FOREVER to lose it

we spend an hour celebrating our own birthday, a day celebrating a saint's birthday, a second celebrating a celebrity's achievements and a decade mourning their death
lines are painted on the roads and nobody cares
if you don't say hello to people you pass in the street you'll never see again then you're a psychopath

I think that's spot on except for the last one. Our attention spans are way to short. We just need to be distracted by another shiny fad and we'll flock.
Basically, to describe modern American culture, think the Roman Empire right before it fell.

It is. Just try to avoid the summer heat and enjoy the nature more than the urban areas and you'll leave here with great experiences. Thumbs%20Up

We're detached from our families and friends and try to reconnect using electronic mediums yet fail
We're obsessed with fitting in
Shallow things are cherished over deep ones

That one is not so much with just us, but with a lot of cultures and societies. Most youths and teenagers always go through these struggles, not just Americans.
