You know, Fripp actually caught the Clap back in 1969.  I was quite disturbed when I read that in Sid Smith's book.

It is , probably, because we now live in a shock culture, and these stunts are used to publicise a bloody awful noise (rap), that wouldn't sell if they were all mummies boys.
 
Incidently, i see that crap rapper snoop dogg has been banned sine die from the UK, about time the UK took a stand against these criminals masquerading as (laughs out loud here) musicians.
