Topic: Yes vs. Genesis Elimination Tourney 6th ROUND! Posted: April 17 2007 at 11:36 |
Oh boy! Now it's really getting harder... As you know this time you have to choose your favourite album between Yes and Genesis. The tourney started with their debut albums and will stop with their late 70's/early 80's albums. Every round will face the next studio album of both discographies and you have to choose your favourite...
So let's vote. I don't know what I'll do at the end of the 10th or 11th or 12th poll but let's enjoy this musical battle...
Best regards from Chile... (This round will close next friday)
History of Elimination:
YES Yes vs. GENESIS From Genesis to Revelation
YES Time and a Word vs. GENESIS Trespass
YES The Yes Album vs. GENESIS Nursery Cryme
YES Fragile vs. GENESIS Foxtrot
YES Close to the Edge vs. GENESIS Selling England by the Pound

Neither of these albums were real treasures for me, but I'd say The Lamb is a little better.

I realise I've voted for genesis in all of them, it's fun to see how Genesis wins in the beginning, but I predict it'll slowly turn to Yes, besides, they have more albums, don't they.

No doubt THE LAMB.
More trascendental, well elaborate, complete and innovative IMHO.

The Lamb wins, because there's a wagonload of good melodies, and the concept has been worked out better.
Having said that, I do like Tales a lot as well.

I voted for Lamb. See, where Lamb exceeded for being actually good, Tales failed for being bad.

The Lamb is overall superior and has less filler.
I can't believe The Yes Album lost ... that album is an excellent classic rock symbol

The Lamb for me . This is my 2nd favourite Genesis album (behind Selling England). I think Tales was too stretched out and Yes were trying to fill the album and IMO they were trying to hard
