Taken by the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond, the mountain in the background is  Ben Lomond. Pity I had to go and spoil the view don't you think!

Have you heard fellow Scot, Paul Bremner's solo album Wombsong? He preforms a wonderful instrumental version of Loch Lomond. Brought tears to my eyes. Now I know why, beautiful.

Haven't come across Paul Bremner at all, what's his instrument? I don't know how well Runrig are known outside their homeland, but they've made "Loch Lomond" their anthem. The song is of course performed by many others, I have a very good version by Steve McDonald, who I think is from New Zealand, on his album "Sons of Somerled", a superb collection of Celtic themes.

Actually, I am 6'3," slim, short-cropped receding hairline, moustache & goatee, brown hair, blue eyes, and apt to dress just like any guy my age (jeans, tee-shirt, etc.), except at work, where it is office casual (khakis, etc.)

All pretty average and white-bread-boring, really!

PS to all: No, I'm not "back in force," but I'll probably make the odd post when moved/prompted, and I still vote in polls that I care about. I am always reachable via PM.

I plan to write more reviews soon -- been busy/unmotivated lately....

Actually I was thinking more of an updated post-war English gardener look...the kind of literary character who regrets being called during such simple duties to lend his expertise on a matter of urgent national importance. Please tell me you tend a garden, or at least enjoy the odd bit of backpacking on weekends. Sometimes I picture you with a walking stick, and try to determine if it conceals a blade within...
