progismylife, APPLE PIE's samples can be found on this thread's page 6 top.Click on the band's name and then on opening the link - on songs' titles. 2-min low-quality samples is not quite enogh, but they would give you a first impression..

Some news - there's a new Russian Prog-SUPER group BATISPHERE formed. Here we have ex-INFRONT keyboardist, NYL's drummer, KOSTAREV GROUP-related bass-player and guitarist Mike "Zoso" whom I personally know
No songs or site yet, but I'll keep you informed on them! |

I am listening to new Karfagen album now, and must admit it's better that their first. It is not overly complex, but it's a very beautiful symphonic work, and more varied that their debut. Initial impression of an easy listening gradually disappears on second and third spin. Masterfully played and pure pleasure to listen to. Recommended.

Has anyone mentioned Lost World? I just got their "Awakening of the Elements" (2006) CD and it is EXCELLENT! It is completely instrumental and some absolutely wonderful stuff. Very intricate. Think Kansas (Magnum Opus or Myriad) in a blender with Mahavishnu Orchestra and Dixie Dregs. Wild and wonderful stuff. There are some very classical elements evident as well.

Thanks, Prog-Jester! Fromuz did an excellent job in Mexicali recently at the Baja Prog Festival in pleasing the crowd. Is there anyone following this thread who was able to attend Baja? [Satellite & Indukti (Poland) were also there.] I'm going to try to get some excerpts from the "Audio Diplomacy" DVD up on youtube.com soon so that people can get a glimpse of the band in action. |

Say Igor, has anyone here mentioned Aviva and their recent release through Musea called Rokus Tonalis? Instrumental heavy keyboard driven prog. I am now begining promoting their addition to PA. See the threads in the collab zone for more discussion.
