I have Ars Vita Longa Brevis from Haddad, but I don't think this album amazing.
Maybe a 3 stars album.
I didn't like the lyrics too much. The instrumental songs are very good.
I don't know if there is something wrong with me.. I just prefer other bands.
Or I have to listen more Haddad albums.
The genre? Maybe Art Rock, because they play various styles.

The eternal 'a matter of taste'  senores Wink This evening I will mail Hans from Progwalhalla about more interesting Latin-American prog because he has good contacts with Rock Symphony and Mylodon Records, both labels are responsible for lots of great new prog Clap Thanks to Hans I have discovered Bauer, Tarkus, Seti, Astralis, Spin and the amazing new Argentine progrock band William Gray, highly recommended Thumbs%20Up

Well, I just happened to be listening to the sample tracks of a couple bands from Chile on the front page, Exsimio and Octopus, and both were very very good.  Man, Exsimio's drummer in a monster!

Love Exsimio. I have their Carbono 14 and will get their s/t soon as well.

Lately got my hands on another Chilean band which Erik got me into (and had an interview with them) - Angulart.
Had a couple of listens and so far - Thumbs%20Up

I am very glad with the good words about overlooked Chilean band Angulart because they have a very adventurous and compelling sound with inspired vocals and lots of great musical ideas Clap I will contact their manager how about Angulart at this moment, I was told by him that their singer left last year.

I don't know that I'd say that the region is set to become the prog leader, but with the internet's wide distribution, it's given acts from that area a better opportunity for exposure. Especially in a scene like prog that tends to rely more on community for info & references, i.e. word of mouth.

Samir, we have a foster child in Paraguay, his name is Elias, he is 15, he loves football, guitar and drawing, just like his foster parent in Holland Wink

Evolucion is great but I don't know bands from Paraguay, I am sure fellow collaborator Cesar Inca Mendoza can help you Thumbs%20Up

Did you listen Vesania from Brazil? I just listened last days and I really loved it!

I don't like metal, but this (symphonic) album with a touch of metal is really really good!!!

I will write a review for their unique album... coming soon... Big%20smile

You're all missing one heck of a band: FRAGIL, from Peru.

It's one of those pop prog bands, not saying it is worse or anything, it's excellent music, just don't expect any virtuosism, ultra fast and intricate solos or riffs, great epics, experiments or things like that, it's just always very enjoying. Check out Av. Larco (excellent album but poor sound production), Cuento Real (good songs, good production, good everything) and Sorpresa del Tiempo (a live album that includes almost all songs from Av. Larco, this time with a totally superior sound quality).
Autenticidad, actitud, pluralidad, espiritu e inteligencia, si es prog bien, si no, tambien.
