Just saw them the other night in Tokyo. Very close to what was reported from Glasgow. They seem to have it down by now, and really appreciated the warm welcome from the sold-out Japanese audience, which apparently had never seen the original members perform. Neither had I (together) in fact, and it really exceeded my (admittedly not too high) expectations. 

Like its been said, the pedigree of the members could lead to some wrong conclusions about their music, but accessable it was, and the playing really quite good, especially my personal hero, Mr. Palmer-san. Also they did play for 2 hours, and lets face it, how many more chances will we have to see some of the founding fathers of prog?

	They played here in Brazil, too, last weekend (two days befor Roger Waters... what a weekend!) Their show is very, very good, those who didn't go really don't know what they lost! Although the Asia album that was the basis of the set list is horrible, the songs, alive, become uncredibly better! The arrangements are better, and the performances of the musicians were mind-boggling (with the exception of Wetton, who has lost his voice and also his ability on the bass guitar). Even if the show hadn't been good, seeing Steve Howe playing would be quite enough for me... I was simply amazed The audience preferred Palmer, and shouted his name after most songs. Oh, men, the drum solo was amazing! ONe of the best shows in my life!

	I recently saw Asia in Marksville, Louisiana at a Native American casino. They were excellent, especially Carl Palmer and Steve Howe. They played mostly songs from the first Asia album and their new album Phoenix. They also played "Roundabout", "Court of the Crimson King", and "Fanfare for the Common Man". They sure came across more prog-like live than on the first album. The new album has its prog moments too. My guitar buddy and I had a great time. Peace.
