Topic: New Jon Anderson Album Released Posted: March 26 2007 at 00:20 |
Just received the following information from Voiceprint Records regarding a brand new Jon Anderson album:
TYNE AND WEAR, ENGLAND--March 26, 2007--The one and only Jon Anderson has captivated and thrilled audiences for more than 35 years. He has one of the most recognizable and copied voices in modern music. And as co-founder and lead singer for the legendary progressive band, Yes, he has penned some of rock's most endearing and timeless music, including Roundabout, Wondrous Stories, Long Distance Runaround, and more. Indeed, Jon Anderson has been and continues to be a major influence and driving force behind the modern music scene. Jon's fans now have the rare opportunity to experience his music and career like never before. Welcome to Live From La La Land, the newest album from Jon Anderson. Live From La La Land was recorded at the famed Roxy in Los Angeles, California during Jon's 2006 solo tour. And unlike any of his previous tours, this one was just Jon, his instruments and the audience...which is exactly what makes this recording so special. A beautiful double CD set, Live From La La Land boasts Jon performing many fan favorites, including Owner Of A Lonely Heart, Your Move, And You And I, and other hits from Yes; I'll Find My Way Home and State Of Independence recorded during his partnership with Vangelis; solo pieces like White Buffalo, Buddha Song, and Piano Songs; and much more. So don't delay; join Jon for a magical evening of music and stories, and welcome to La La Land. "Live From La La Land", that must be one of the most stupid album
titles ever. I mean is it music for children? Like "Jon Anderson with
the teletubbies".
Anyway, Jon (or probably his manager) tries to make everything out of his Tour Of The Universe which by the way was a nice tour. He already released DVD under the name of the tour and there is already one live album from the tour in his box set. All the songs are same and mostly in same order as in other products. I certainly wouldn't concider it worth buying. I wish they all joined back to Yes and made some real stuff. I mean let's face it none of their solo stuff is really great but they seem to make it more and more. |

Not the wisest choice of title for someone whose critics think he's in la la land anyway! I'll check out the samples before going any further.

Thats so Jon Anderson, though; that title. I imagine that he knows full well what the title will do. His sense of love and hope is often very childish, but that's what makes him so endearing. Don't take it so seriously!

Besides, "la la land" is another name for Los Angeles. Don't know if you knew that, but again, don't take it so seriously. Next thing you know, "Live in Shy-town" will become offensive, or "Live in the big apple".

You're right, but not about all ex-Yes members. Good old Bill Bruford has been on a roll for the past ten years! |
