I vote Phil Keaggy too. A lot of you probably don't know Keaggy or the little band 'Glass Harp', but he is VERY good.

Listen to a song or two from his solo stuff. I think you'll be impressed.

It was also reported that when asked how it felt to be the best guitarist in the world, Clapton said "I don't know, why don't you go ask Phil Keaggy." But that's urban legend. Tongue

This video of Jeff is hilarious.  I wonder if Christopher Guest watched it before going into Spinal Tap...

Of the ones listed Pete, then Keith, the Jimmy.

Although I probably should have gone with other.

Neil Schon, John Cipolina, Johnny Ramone (he pioneered the art of 3 chotrd songs, admit you love him) and Robert Cray for blues.

But above all, Jeff freaking Beck!

Buckethead's playing is accomplished but kinda just sits there, like he wishes he weren't even playing.

Michael Schenker
Buddy Guy
Randy Rhoads
Johnny Winter
Uli Jon Roth
..and the 'Unknown' John Clark

Well, along with Townsend, he's the king of Rhythm Guitar. Plus, listen to Sympathy for the Devil.
